Ichthyosis Pathology
Ichthyosis is a rare hereditary skin disease with an incidence rate of about 4‰. Ichthyosis severely impairs the normal perspiration and metabolism of the skin. The skin is the largest organ of the human body, and the dysfunction will seriously affect the metabolism of people's kidneys and other organs, especially for severe patients.
According to symptoms, mode of inheritance, and onset time, there are four main types of ichthyosis: ichthyosis Vulgaris, X-linked ichthyosis, lamellar ichthyosis, and bullous ichthyosis. (also other types are known as harlequin ichthyosis, epidermolytic ichthyosis, collodion baby, etc)

Various types of ichthyosis have many distinctive features. For example, 75% of Vulgaris patients often have keratosis follicularis; X-linked patients have 50% of men and women, but women are only gene carriers and their skin condition is normal. Lamellar patients usually with thick dark scales. Bullous patients often with broken skin tissue on skin, and also some smell.
