No one in my family has ichthyosis, so why did I get it?
Many patients wonder: No one in my family for generations has had ichthyosis, yet I was diagnosed with it. What could be the reason? Today, we'll analyze three causes of ichthyosis.
First: Recessive inheritance. The parents are asymptomatic carriers of the disease-causing gene and don't develop scales themselves. The child happens to inherit two copies of the gene, thus developing the disease.
Second: Acquired. This is unrelated to genetics. Chronic internal diseases, medication stimulation, or damage to the skin barrier can cause ichthyosis to gradually develop.
Third: New gene mutation. The parents have healthy genes, but a sudden mutation occurs in the sperm, egg, or early embryo, making the baby the first patient in the family.
Applying ordinary moisturizers only provides temporary relief and cannot address the root cause. Zhang Jian Therapy has dual patents in China and the US. It's purely topical, hormone-free, and doesn't require oral medication. It uses traditional Chinese medicine fumigation to soften scales, unclog skin glands, and repair the skin barrier. With 23 years of clinical experience, we are suitable for all types of ichthyosis, including genetic and acquired mutations. Tens of thousands of patients worldwide have regained smooth skin through our treatment. Even patients without a family history of the disease can maintain stable skin condition long-term after treatment.
